How to Practice Self Love
Self love is more than bubble baths and skincare, though we don’t object to pampering yourself when you need it! If you’re ready to get serious about loving yourself through the messy parts of life, keep reading.
1 —
Say no to anything that makes you feel less than who you are.
Whether it is an invitation to an event, a relationship or friendship, or the persistent person at the makeup counter trying to convince you to buy $100 worth of makeup when you only stopped to buy eyeliner, you have a right to say no to anyone and everything that does not reflect who you are at your core.
Saying no creates healthy boundaries and allow you to use your voice in a way that empowers you to reflect your true self. If this one makes you cringe, that probably means this is where you should focus. Remember: loving yourself also means doing what is uncomfortable to grow.
2 —
Express yourself.
Whether it’s a new lipstick color, creating art, singing, dancing, or anything in between, find ways to express yourself. That will also make number one easier to do, as self expression is a great practice run for using your voice. When was the last time you did something to release all worry or anxiety to just relax?
Discover your voice all over again through creative play, and watch how it helps you become bold and more expressive in other areas.

And don’t forget to go back to basics when it comes to your beauty routine.
We are shown advertisements and images from the time we wake to the time we sleep, so it’s important to stay centered on your basic beauty routine steps that will help you look and feel your best. And we all know beauty begins within. Make sure you are feeding your body enough water and greens, develop a habit of spending at least 20 minutes outdoors daily, and get your beauty rest (whatever you’re up late doing will still be there in the morning, trust me).
Beauty routine basics also include saying affirmations and fortifying your mind against any thought patterns that are not uplifting.
