How to Oil Cleanse Your Way to Naturally Glowing Skin
Oil cleansing takes simple chemistry (like attracts like) to buff away all the dirt, makeup, impurities, and whatever else your face is holding on to from the day.
If you're new to oil cleansing, don't worry! This will not leave you with slick and slimy feeling skin! Oil cleansing is a deep cleaning method that goes beyond the surface to pull up blackheads, blemishes, and other things that try to live on our faces rent free, before they get a chance to get growing.
Even if you have oily skin, oil cleansing is beneficial, but the key is in knowing which products to use, and how to correctly implement this method.
How to Oil Cleanse the Right Way
First things first, wash your hands and dry them well. Do not wet your face! Oil cleansing works with dry hands and skin (the steam and water come later!).
Pump a quarter sized amount of your oil cleanser into clean, dry hands, and massage in gentle circular motions on the face and neck. Do not pull or rub your skin too harshly. Massage for anywhere from 1-3 minutes and don’t rush this part! Most people cleanse for 10-20 seconds, but that is not enough time for the ingredients to fully work their goodness into your skin. Feel free to make it a self care moment by focusing on your temple, jaw line, forehead and anywhere else you hold tension. This is also a great time to relax and decompress after a long day.
After the massage, run hot water over a soft towel, then steam your face for 15 seconds or until the towel cools, gently wiping excess oil as you remove the towel. Repeat the steaming process 1-2 more times, gently breathing in and out as your face steams.
And the final step: moisturize! Try a lightweight non-comedogenic moisturizer like our Rosehip beauty oil to leave your skin feeling fresh and naturally glowing.
