5 Must-Haves to Master Doing Your Makeup in 5 Minutes or Less

There are endless tutorials and tips from pro makeup artists and influencers that showcase intricate eyeliner looks and complicated contouring, but sometimes there just literally isn’t enough time in the day to commit an extra 30 minutes to doing makeup.

Enter: the five minute face. Because the last thing you should have to stress over is your makeup.

Here’s what you need to do to master your makeup routine when you’re short on time.

1 —

Be consistent with your skincare routine.

Your makeup will only look as good as your skin underneath, so your skincare routine is non-negotiable. A solid skincare routine doesn’t have to involve ten steps either - a consistent oil cleansing routine and day to night beauty oil go a long way for a natural glow.

2 —

Learn the art of the blend.

As much as we love blending with our fingers over here, if you want the full face look without the time commitment, applying your makeup with a beauty blender is the way to go. It creates more even coverage and the shape of the beauty blender allows for more precise application, which is a huge time saver. Plus, it’s beginner friendly, and very intuitive to use.

Pro tip: work with your features and always blend in an upward motion. Think of lifting your skin, not dragging her down. And always be gentle!

3 —

Do more with multipurpose products.

It’s no secret that we love a good multipurpose makeup moment here! Being short on time is one of the reasons I created our signature 4-in-1 makeup that can be worn as lip color, highlight, blush and eye shimmer.

Save time and money by trading in five different products for one or two and see what a difference it makes in the time spent doing your makeup routine. Plus, it makes touch ups easy when you’re on the go without the hassle of carrying around a bulky beauty bag.

4 —

Bring out your best with a pop of color or luminous highlight.

You don’t have to be an expert to apply your makeup with ease, and adding color or highlight is no exception. If you don’t already have a signature lip color, blush or highlight, experiment until you find the winning combination. And if you don’t want to spend extra time thinking about what to try, matching your lip color and blush is a great place to start. When I tried it for the first time, I immediately fell in love, here’s how it turned out!

5 —

Remember your natural beauty.

This wouldn’t be Liplove and our list wouldn’t be complete without this reminder. You are already beautiful, makeup is just a bonus. So take the pressure off of yourself to look like someone else or replicate another look, and be your own beauty standard. After all, real beauty is loving what you see when you look in the mirror and when you look within.
